About me

My name is Laura (Laa-ra). I use She/Her/Hers pronouns.

I am a digital creator, educator, podcast host, athlete, and DEI + Sustainability consultant.

I am originally from Knoxville,TN, Cherokee and Yuchi territory.

I’ve lived in Jackson, WY, Shoshone-Bannock, Eastern Shoshone, + Cheyenne territory, and Concord, NH, Pennacook, Wabanaki, + Abenaki territory, as well.

I am a transracial adoptee. That means I am adopted and my adoptive family is a different race than I am. In my case, my family is white and I am Black.

I work as the Corporate Responsibility Manager for Brown Girls Climb and as. a digital creator + educator on Instagram.

I work from the road as I travel full time in my van.
I’ve been in my current rig for ~8 months and I don’t see an end date in sight (yet). I love traveling especially when I can bring my pup, Willy, along.

I fell in love with the outdoors by going to summer camp and visiting the Smoky Mountains with my family as a kid.

I’ve been climbing for ~5 years and, while I’ve had my ups and downs with the sport, it’s something I truly love and can’t wait to get back to very soon.

If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask!
Welcome and thanks for being here.

With love and gratitude,
Laura
